Highlander

February 14, 2010

in this scene the composition it is nice. First, there counter shape creates an “S” shape that goes from the viewer to the first character seated on the bench next to the counter and then this line continue to the window. On this window
high contrasted beams of lights are entering trough it in the opposite direction and this light beams “bring” the eye to the character seated next to the counter. Also it is interesting the variety or the color pallets on the composition.

Leon

February 14, 2010

At first sight, the light set in this scene is motivational, but also it is not motivational as well. The light is prepared in this particular way because it is enhancing the qualities of the character who is called Leon and it is a hitman.

The light source it is supposed to be the sun or the atmosphere and the quality of the light is soft and low intensity.
The character is barely lit, and this also is enhancing the inner properties of the character and that it is why I believe the type of lighting is non motivational and motivational at the same time.

Men who hate woman

February 14, 2010

In this scene the distribution of the light in the water surface and the colors of the elements in the scene are interesting. The scene is composed by trees, sky, the river and a man fishing.

This scene is interesting because the man fishing it is not enhance by lighting or composition it is small and almost mixed with the background and, on the other hand, the enviroment seem to be more important than the character.

The craw

February 14, 2010

In this composition the character is lit in a first plane an the set is lit on a second plane. On the one hand, the character is lit evenly and not very contrasted. But the background is very contrasted and the light is much more
high in intensity. The set lighting separates the character from the background and creates depth
Also it is interesting the shadows on the ceiling and the asymmetry of them which creates a nice composition.

Flying daggers

The lighting in this scene ins interesting but also the composition it is also. The light most important beam of light it is directed to the character that it is in the center of the scene. This particular beams of light creates a higher hierarchy of  this character between the others. It is interesting the lines and how the scene was framed.
